The Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History is honored to welcome Frank Cornish as part of our Distinguished Lecture Series. Join us at 7:00 p.m. on April 19, 2022 for a riveting lecture on “Safari in Texas: How the Ice Age Shaped Our Area”

About Frank Cornish:

Frank Cornish received his BS from LSU (1973) and MA from UT at Austin (1975) in geology. He began his career with the USGS in Colorado in 1973. After UT he worked the Permian and Anadarko Basins for Getty Oil in Midland and Oklahoma City. In 1978 he started with Texas Oil and Gas in Oklahoma City and was transferred to Corpus Christi as a District Geologist. Since 1990 he has generated prospects for various industry partners including Suemaur Exploration, Yuma Exploration, SV Energy, Camden, and currently, Hurd Enterprises under his company name of Imagine Resources, LLC.

He is the author of several technical and popular articles, including “Dinosaurs”, Texas Highways, 1988 and “Riches in the Heart of Texas”, Texas Parks and Wildlife, 1991. Mr. Cornish has studied and published papers about the Recent / Pleistocene sediments along the Nueces River with Dr. Jon Baskin of Texas A & M, Kingsville in the Texas Journal of Science. Mr. Cornish is a former President and a Distinguished Member of the Corpus Christi Geological Society. This talk was first presented here for an Elderhostel group.
