Distinguished Lecture Series: “Tropical Topical: Hurricane Season 2022”

1900 N. Chaparral St.
May 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm CDT

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History is honored to welcome Chief Meteorologist Alan Holt as part of our Distinguished Lecture Series. Join us at 7:00 p.m. on May 17, 2022 for a riveting lecture on “Tropical Topical: Hurricane Season 2022”

About Alan Holt:

(From KIIITV.com) Alan Holt was born and raised in San Antonio where he graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in Communication. He also holds a master’s degree in Geosciences, with a focus on Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Before returning to Texas, Alan spent two years at the ABC affiliate in Wyoming (KTWO). He gained valuable experience forecasting many different types of weather and was recognized by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters as one of the best meteorologists in the state. From blizzards to tornadoes, nothing was out of the question in the Rocky Mountain West.

Alan holds the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval, “on the basis of meteorological competency, communication skills, and production values.” The certification required a passing score of 80-percent on a 100-question examination of meteorological competency and a vigorous on-air evaluation to obtain.

During the time Alan has been in Corpus Christi, he is most proud of his coverage of Hurricane Harvey, undoubtedly helping to save lives during the powerful Category 4 land falling hurricane in 2017. Less than four months after Harvey came the December snow in 2017, another highlight of Alan’s tenure in the Coastal Bend. Alan also hosts many elite social events for various non-profit organizations on a regular basis throughout the year.
