Dr. Chuck Blend presents “A Parasite Feast for the Curious” at Railroad Seafood Station & Brewing Co. from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday evening.
Dr. Blend is a resident scholar in Parasitology and Deep-Sea Biology at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. He is also a research associate at the Laboratory of Parasitology for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at Texas A&M College Station, as well as a research associate at the Harold W. Manter Laboratory and Collections of Parasitology at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi and holds a post-doctoral appointment with Dr. Norman Dronen at Texas A&M College Station. Dr. Blend has described over 50 new taxa of parasitic worms, published 45+ papers and abstracts, and has presented 60+ papers and posters.
Dr. Blend is the entrepreneur and founder of “Taxonomic Maid Services.” Exobiology is one of his big interests, as well as natural history, theology and the intersection of science and religion, astronomy, paleontology, wine/wineries, playing his sitar, traveling, reading and writing, watching movies, and enjoying nice walks and quiet suppers with his wife Christy.
