February 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST
  • This event has passed.

Learn about the curiosities of science while enjoying a beer (or two) and FREE appetizers at the Museum’s Science on Tap, held monthly.

This event’s speaker is Randy Bissell, Adjunct Professor of Historical Geology at TAMU-CC and Geoscience Advisor at Headington Energy Partners, LLC.

He will be presenting:

“A Brief Geologic History of South Texas – Living on the Trailing Edge

The South Texas coastline has been shaped by massive geological forces over eons of time. But there are the “BIG 10” events (and untold others) that inform the geologic history of Texas. More recently, just in the last million years, wide variations in sea level have defined and re-defined the Gulf shoreline. Humankind is in the midst of such variation.

Randy Bissell is a local geologist exploring for oil & gas in South Texas. He is also a Texas Master Naturalist and adjunct faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in the geology program. Randy underscores the big events in earth history with personal reflections and anecdotes from his own experiences working (and drinking beer) in Texas and around the world.”

Beers & the Big 10? Yes, please!
