Event Details:

The vibrant and diverse Indigenous cultures of South Texas take center stage at the Indigenous Heritage Celebration at Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. This event will be an immersive experience into the rich heritage of local Indigenous communities. 

Taking center stage will be captivating performances by Kalpulli Ehekatl Papalotzin ([kaɬˈpoːlːi e-HE-kah-tl Pap-a-lotzin)  , a distinguished local Mexica group closely linked to the Aztec or Azteca traditions. Hailing from Corpus Christi, TX, their lineage traces back to Tenochtitlan, modern day Mexico City.  

The museum will also welcome Juan Garcia of the Lipan Tribe of Texas to talk about the history of his community as well as Deron Sun Eagle, who will talk about storytelling within the Pawnee Tribe. 

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on interactive activities such as “Ojos de Dios” beading. 

Guests are encouraged to beat the line and pre-purchase tickets online today. The cost of entry is General Admission for non-Members. Museum Members and children under 3 years old are FREE.

    • Daren Sun Eagle: Storytelling from the Pawnee Tribe 12:30 p.m.
  • Special Performance by Local Native American Danza Group: Kalpulli Ehekatl Papalotzin
  • All activities end at 4:00 p.m.
