Homeschool Day: Black History Month (2/2/24)

Program Details:

This engaging and educational event will shine a spotlight on the achievements of notable African American figures in various scientific fields. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the rich history of key leaders such as George Washington Carver. 

Students will have the chance to participate in a hands-on program, recreating some of the experiments conducted by these pioneering individuals. The program aims to provide a unique and interactive learning experience, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the significant impact African Americans have had in shaping the world of science and discovery. 

Pre-Registration is REQUIRED.

Activities Include:

  • History Lessons About Famous African American Scientists
  • Recreating Experiments from Famous African American Scientists and Inventors


Notice for Parents:
During our two-hour Home School Program spacing is limited to only students enrolled in Grades 1st-6th. Younger/older siblings or parents are welcome to browse through the Museum with separate general admission ticket purchase(s).

Be on time for the program. Homeschool Day check in begins at 10 am. Late arrivals (more than 15 min late) will not be allowed to attend the program and will not receive a refund or raincheck.
